Our simplified application process makes applying to Dorson Vocational Training Institute easy and convenient.

Our attentive Admissions Representatives guide prospective students throughout the entire process from beginning to graduation. This includes clearly explaining proper forms to submit, course requirements, and financial aid options. Our representatives will also help students select the program that best suits their interests and career goals.

Registration Deadlines

  • Students may register for courses at any time with a minimum of one week (5 days) prior to the start of classes.
  • Students requesting financial assistance will need to register at least one month (20 days) prior to the start of classes.

Required Documents

In addition, you are required to register in person with the admissions officer and must bring the following with you:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate (if applicable)
  • Identification (drivers license, birth certificate or passport)
  • Initial payment for registration and tuition fees (cash or check). Students receiving financial assistance or who have a student loan must bring such documentation when registering.
  • All students must be at least seventeen (17) years of age on or before the first day of class.
  • Students must possess a High School Diploma or a G.E.D. Certificate (if applicable).
  • Ninth (9th) grade reading and math level as measured by the Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)
  • An interview with the admissions officer to review the TABE scores of the student and to discuss any prerequisites needed for enrollment.

Dorson Vocational Training Institute, is a division of Dorson Home Care, which is fully licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Education and Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Our instructors are certified by The National Health Association (NHA) and provide exceptional hands on training to our healthcare students. In addition, Dorson Vocational Training Institute offers both day and evening classes as well as affordable tuition payment plans and access to financial aid. Lastly, our Career Services team works closely with students to help facilitate job placement.
